Podcast Show 2022

The Podcast Show is an international festival that serves as Europe’s largest gathering of the global podcasting community, featuring industry giants like Spotify, YouTube, The Guardian, Amazon Music, Acast, Audible, and BBC Sounds, alongside renowned creators such as Gary Lineker, Fearne Cotton, Louis Theroux, and more. Catering to independent podcast creators, industry professionals, and influencers, the event offers over 150 in-person sessions, panel discussions, masterclasses, and guest speaker presentations. In my role, I led a team of creative designers and AV technicians to create and implement on-screen branding and content for this sold-out two-day festival, managing over 100 keynote presentation decks for partners and festival stages and sessions.

Project Overview

Objective

The objective of this project was to elevate the on-screen branding and overall presentation for The Podcast Show, Europe's largest gathering of the podcasting community. By developing a cohesive visual strategy, the aim was to enhance audience engagement and ensure a seamless visual experience throughout the festival.

Insights

Upon evaluation, it became clear that on-screen branding before, during and between sessions had not been adequately considered, which limited the event's potential impact. I was brought on board at the last minute to address this gap and implement a solution that would enhance brand visibility.

Strategy

I led a team of designers to create an on-screen branding strategy that integrated visual elements across various sessions and stages. I also coordinated over 100 keynote presentation decks to align with the podcast show's branding, resulting in an engaging experience for partners and attendees, enhancing the festival's overall impact.

On-Screen Branding

The branding for The Podcast Show 2022 featured a cohesive visual identity that captured the festival's theme while showcasing individual partner stages. Each stage was designed with parter logos to reflect the unique brand of the respective partner, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the event.

On-screen branding displayed key information during sessions, including titles, speakers, and logos, ensuring clear communication for attendees. This integration not only created a seamless experience but also highlighted the contributions of each partner, enriching audience engagement throughout the festival.

I collaborated closely with each stage producer and the AV team to ensure a cohesive and engaging on-screen experience at The Podcast Show 2022. This involved coordinating with producers to tailor the visual elements and branding for their specific sessions, ensuring that all content not only reflected the overarching festival identity but also met the unique needs of each presentation. Additionally, I provided dedicated support to partners and guest speakers as they prepared for their sessions, assisting with their keynote decks and offering guidance on integrating branding elements. This collaborative approach resulted in a polished and dynamic on-screen experience that enhanced the overall atmosphere of the festival and facilitated effective communication of vital information throughout the event.

By managing over 100 keynote decks and working alongside stage producers and AV teams, I ensured that each partner's presence was showcased effectively, enhancing their visibility and engagement with the audience.

The final outcome of The Podcast Show 2022 was a resounding success, with audiences and partners alike praising the cohesive on-screen branding experience. Founders expressed their satisfaction with how effectively vital information was communicated, enhancing the overall engagement of the festival. The strategic integration of branding across all sessions, keynote talks, and panel discussions not only elevated the event's professional image but also ensured that messages resonated clearly with attendees.
